Unreasonably Impulsive
Listening to my soul
Although I knew I should let it go, I have been struggling recently with a work situation. I felt a deep need to push back, to labor, to fight. I am done with laboring now though. It is time to ask the question, “Now that this has happened, what does this make possible?”
At the end of January, I took a Reiki I class. Until three days before the class, I had never even had a Reiki session, so it was seemingly odd that I enrolled in the class. Frankly, I really didn’t even know what Reiki was.
I have always thought that I was unreasonably impulsive. I have all my life made decisions without thinking them through. Where other people apply logic, I shrug and say, “I don’t know why, but I’m going to do this.” How else do you think I took a trip to South Africa? It wasn’t like it had been a long-time dream of mine. How else do you think I ended up walking a half-marathon on my 45th birthday in Arizona? I’m pretty sure I never ever wanted to be that physically active.
After years of these “impulsive” decisions, I have come to realize that I have been listening to my intuition, my spirit, my guides. I didn’t need to be logical because I have been in tune with my soul all along. I just didn’t have a clue that that was what I was doing.
Actually Knowing
Re-tooling Angela Jane's
Similarly, I have with confidence answered people’s random questions without actually knowing much about the topic at hand. I, again, would answer as if I knew and then as I got to the end of my answer, I would say, “But don’t trust me; I have no idea what I am talking about.” In reality, I did know; I just didn’t know I knew.
I learned in my Reiki class that there is an ability called claircognizance. You’d think I’d have known about it since I have it, but, nope. Apparently, that’s not how it necessarily works for me (smile).
Listening to my intuition and Universal guidance brought me to Angela Jane’s New Mourning Photography. I knew very clearly that I was to do this. However, I am going through a refocusing (pun intended) process right now. I learned many things about the business last year and need to tweak and adjust now.
My ego is telling me, “Get it done!” whereas my intuition is saying, “All in due time.” So, if you are wondering why there has been mostly silence from Angela Jane’s, it’s because I’m re-tooling and listening to my soul and my spirit guides. They aren’t in any hurry. I am balancing three heart’s desires that are all interconnected and are, therefore, developing in interesting ways.
I wake up each day with wonder. I wonder what step I’m going to take today on my path to fulfilling those desires. I sometimes listen to my ego, who says to me what you want is not possible; it’s too big for someone like you.
Insistently Whispering
Applying the answer
Then, I learned in a second Reiki session with Ashley at Sanctuary Reiki Center that my inner child is encouraging me by saying, “All is possible.” As I hear my ego say its piece in an effort to keep me safe and protected, I now also hear my inner child insistently whisper to me, “All is possible.”
“All is possible,” I tell myself as I finally let go of the problem I am facing at work. I realize now that the “problem” is an opportunity to practice on my path to my heart’s desire. I realize that I wrote at the end of January the solution to the "problem" I am now facing; I just hadn’t applied it to my work situation.
I read something recently that I’m now paraphrasing – you can’t fight darkness; you can only brighten your light. I had been focusing on fighting the darkness, but now I am applying these words of mine to the situation at work:
Shine the light
See it bright
Share it right
Without a fight
Sending you my shining bright light,
Angela Jane
