"A Rocky Poem" by my sister
"Not brass or stone
These will corrode and some day die
but love alone
laughs at decay and soars on high
in fragrant immortality"
~Robert Francis St. Clair Erskine, Fourth Earl of Rosslyn
by Angela Jane
I shed the skin of the old me,
Young as it were.
I don't shed me - not the me
That was born with purpose
To shine light and be
The voice of masters
Just the skin that had covered this purpose
Masked those voices
The skin that protected me
Until I no longer needed to be held in containment
With this shedding
I can feel the sun
See the stars
Hear the angels
Smell the wonder and
Taste divinity
With this shedding
I shine so brightly
I need do nothing
But sit
